The landmark park located in the suburb of Avalon in Lower Hutt, began development in 2015 and was completed in 2018. It features the Omos s59.2 seat, Tilley Horizon Tilt Bin and Plaza Drinking Fountain as well as Tilley Stud Plank, a custom-designed picnic setting, bespoke childrens talk tubes and custom 5.0mm mild steel laser cut decorative feature panels all produced by Tilley.
Opened in 2018, Te Auaha is Weltec’s new creative campus located on the corner of Dixon and Cuba street in Wellington. Partnered with Thermosash, the project features 4.0mm Aluminium 5052 panels punched with 36 x 8mm round ended slots @ 25 x 44 centres in a staggered pattern, which were then powder coated. Wellington City Council working together with Tilley’s to create a new cycle hub in the heart of the city! Located on Grey Street, our Cyclehoop Dutch Two Tier rack system is a robust and stylish solution to the space-saving requirements of the busy central city and provides an easy to use, safe and convenient facility to support the cities growing cycle culture.
Working with Wellington City Council for another outstanding result. A major arterial route for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, all aspects of the Victoria Street upgrade required careful consideration. Redesigning and manufacturing a series of waste bins to ease pedestrian traffic were only a portion of our contribution. Bespoke seating items, finished with two pot epoxy and anti-graffiti clear coat were supplied, along with Wellington City Council cycle racking systems.
Collaborating with architects, designers and project companies is something we do with ease. A revamp of New Zealand Post’s Petone private box gallery required collaborative input from all stakeholders involved in this project. Our expertise in the cutting, punching and folding of metal products assisted with the initial design and manufacture of the decorative structures, but we also advised on finishes and other installation aspects to ensure project milestones were met.

It’s always rewarding to participate in a project that has so much meaning to a city and pays homage to our national identity. Working with Wraight & Associates and LT McGuinness on the Wellington Cenotaph Precinct was a gratifying experience. We collaborated with the talented folk of Wraight & Associates on a modified version of the Wellington City Council Eddy Seat, adding value to the design and complementing the immediate environment. Scheduling the manufacture of these items with LT McGuinness Construction Ltd, to ensure the project deadline was met.
